La Ensenada Centro Educativo

As a part of the InnoPiangua project, lead by the HTW University and Los Andes University,  We-Building aims to bring projects of infrastructure that will contribute to the communities development. The plan is to enabling sustainable local development through innovative mobility and energy structures in the Nariño region in post-conflict Colombia. This project was done as a pilot project. The Project involves the re-construction of the already existing school center La Ensenada.

Issue
The main issue of la Ensenada project is the lack of good learning conditions. For example, lessons of four different classes are taking place in the same shared room. Moreover, in the actual building, not only the quality of the lectures is in danger, but also the safety of all kids and teachers, due to bad maintenance of the building, and humidity of the area.

Solution
We propose the re-construction of the school, by designing a completely new infrastructure, that will consist of 11 classrooms, a teachers’ office, toilets facilities, a media room/library and a
communal room for events and eating.
