Ranja Valley Schule<\/h1>\n
Kinder in Haiti haben es nicht leicht: Haiti hat eine Alphabetisierungsrate von nur 60 % – die niedrigste in der westlichen Hemisph\u00e4re. Der Mangel an Bildung vertieft die sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Unterschiede, was zu einer hohen Armutsquote und wenig M\u00f6glichkeiten zur Verbesserung der Lebensbedingungen f\u00fchrt.<\/div>\n

Eine weitere gro\u00dfe Herausforderung, vor der das Land derzeit steht, ist die Bew\u00e4ltigung der gewaltigen Naturkatastrophen, die die Insel in den letzten Jahren verw\u00fcstet haben, insbesondere die Erdbeben in den Jahren 2010 und 2021 sowie der Hurrikan Matthew im Jahr 2016, durch den mehr als 300 Schulen im Westen Haitis zerst\u00f6rt oder schwer besch\u00e4digt wurden, so dass mehr als 100 000 Kinder den Unterricht nicht besuchen konnten.<\/div>\n

The Ranja Valley School has now been completed and is operating in the Grand\u2019Anse region at the western end of Haiti. For the children of Ranja, the nearest school used to be several kilometers away and required crossing the Grand\u2019Anse river \u2014 a daily safety risk that kept many children at home. Today, children can safely walk to class. <\/div>\n

We-Building hat die Schule in Partnerschaft mit der Di\u00f6zese J\u00e9r\u00e9mie gebaut, die ein Grundst\u00fcck neben der \u00f6rtlichen Kirche zur Verf\u00fcgung gestellt hat. Durch diesen Standort ist die Schule Teil des sozialen Zentrums der Gemeinde geworden und zugleich ist gew\u00e4hrleistet, dass das Gel\u00e4nde das ganze Jahr \u00fcber gut erreichbar und f\u00fcr Kinder sicher ist. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Die erste Phase des Schulkomplexes wurde abgeschlossen. Sie umfasst sechs Klassenr\u00e4ume mit sanit\u00e4ren Anlagen und kommt etwa 180 Kindern aus der Gemeinde und ihren Familien zugute. In weiteren Bauphasen sind zehn zus\u00e4tzliche Klassenr\u00e4ume, ein Computerraum, Arbeitsr\u00e4ume f\u00fcr Lehrkr\u00e4fte und Personal sowie eine Kantine mit K\u00fcche vorgesehen. Der Masterplan ordnet alle Klassenr\u00e4ume um einen gro\u00dfen zentralen Hof an, der f\u00fcr soziale Aktivit\u00e4ten, Sport und gemeinschaftliche Veranstaltungen genutzt wird. <\/div>\n
